KinderPraise is a music education ministry for children ages birth through fifth grade where the Christian faith can be celebrated and the love of Christ is extended to children and parents.
KinderPraise For Babies: Join your baby ages birth - 16 months for a time of musical play and bonding. This will be a time of musical exploration for you and your baby. Awaken your baby's natural curiosity and response to music. Activities will include: bouncing songs, rocking songs, dance and movement, instrument exploration, body awareness, and exploration of steady beat. Come and lay the groundwork for a genuine love and appreciation of music in the family! Toddler Twist classes can include babies at least 6 months old.
Toddler Twist: This class for ages 6 months through 3 years will combine elements of the toddler and babies classes. We will use the toddler curriculum, but the class will be structured to also meet the needs of younger participants.
KinderPraise For Toddlers: Join your toddler age 16 months to 3 1/2 yrs. old for a wonderful time of musical exploration and bonding. Music plays a significant role in the lives of young children. Activities will include bouncing songs, finger plays, body awareness, movement and dance, singing games, name songs, call-and-respond songs, instrument exploration and play with scarves and hoops. Your child can have fun learning and you can know that you are giving them a gift that will never be tossed aside or forgotten - the gift of music! Toddler Twist classes include toddlers and babies at least 6 months old.
KinderPraise For Preschoolers: This class for ages 3 1/2 to 5 includes all of the elements of the younger classes but takes the fun a little further with play acting, exploration of musical concepts and spatial opposites such as high/low, loud/soft, etc. and circle and partner dances and games. There is also a greater emphasis on focused listening skills. This class is a 45 minute class with the parent/caregiver attending only the last 15 minutes of class.
KinderPraise Family Jam: This class for ages 2 to 5 and their siblings of all ages will be similar to our Preschool class. This class is designed for families to come and enjoy a 45 minute music class together. We will use the Preschool curriculum, however, activities will be adjusted to meet the needs of the children in attendance.
KinderPraise Academy: Kindergarten - 5th grade
Kid's Praise Team: This group will meet between Sunday morning services at Covenant Church in Shepherdstown. This is a new offering for KinderPraise and will focus on teaching children Kind. - 5th grade to lead worship for a variety of services. The instruction will deal mainly with vocal development with some instruments as appropriate. This group may also have performance opportunities from time to time.
KinderPraise Academy : This is a class for students in K-5th grades. Some elements of this class will include the glockenspiel, note/rhythm reading and writing, aural discrimination development, as well as some of the elements from the younger classes. This class is sequential in nature and instruction will be given through stations and whole group activities.
